The Diploma of Business is a one-year course (full time equivalent), and is available on both a full time and part time basis. The course normally consists of the first two semesters of the Bachelor of Business. It provides the basis for early entry into employment.
The maximum time allowed for the completion of the Diploma of Business is 4 years. Extensions beyond this time may be approved where extenuating circumstances exist.
Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Business may articulate into the Associate Degree in Business or the Bachelor of Business. Students who successfully complete the Associate Degree in Business may articulate into the Bachelor of Business.
Students who are enrolled in the Associate Degree in Business may exit with the Diploma of Business, subject to the completion of course requirements. Students who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Business may exit with the Associate Degree in Business or the Diploma of Business, subject to the completion of course requirements.
The Diploma of Business is:
- accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and appears in the list of accredited CHC courses on the National Register of Higher Education Providers.
- approved for offering to overseas students and appears on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
- approved for FEE-HELP, Youth Allowance/Abstudy and Austudy (personal eligibility requirements apply).

English Language Proficiency Requirements
Applicants for whom English is not their first language must provide certified documentary evidence that their secondary schooling, or tertiary studies of at least one year, was conducted in the English language or they have satisfactory results in an acceptable English Language Proficiency examination (see table below). Results are to be no more than two years old as at the commencement of the course of study.

|TOEFL||575 or better (pBT – paper-based); 90 or better with no subscore lower than 20 (iBT – internet-based)|

Students who enrol in the Diploma of Business are required to have access to portable computing devices, such as laptops or tablets, that are capable of utilizing the Microsoft Office™ suite, including Excel and Access, in order to undertake learning activities in the unit BZ105 Information Systems for Business. Students are required to bring these devices to classes for this unit.
