The Graduate Diploma in Management is a one-year course (full time equivalent), and is available on both a full time and part time basis. The course emphasises strategic management from a Christian worldview and covers a breadth of management principles. It is especially relevant to managers of profit and not-for-profit organisations who need to gain management expertise, and for people in business seeking Christian input to do ministry in their business sphere.
The maximum time allowed for the completion of the Graduate Diploma in Management is 4 years. Extensions beyond this time may be approved where extenuating circumstances exist.
Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Management may articulate into the Graduate Diploma in Management. Students who are enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Management may exit with the Graduate Certificate in Management, subject to the completion of course requirements.
The Graduate Diploma in Management is:
- accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and appears in the list of accredited CHC courses on the National Register of Higher Education Providers.
- approved for FEE-HELP (personal eligibility requirements apply).
Course Overview & Content
Foundational to all programs at Christian Heritage College is the disposition and ability to look at life and work from a Christian perspective. The Christian worldview forms the basis for thinking about and reflecting and acting upon learning in other parts of the program. The result is not a stifling narrowness, but an enrichment and thorough transformation of the whole program. Human wisdom is valuable, but it has its greatest significance when it is exposed to the wisdom of God.
Management is seen as providing a conceptual paradigm for business activity in that all thought and action are related in some way to the central tasks of managing and decision-making. Management thus forms an integrating concept within the course, with all areas of study relating to the contexts of management, management tools and information, and management of specific dimensions of business activity.

Entry Requirements (Detail)
Candidates for admission must hold an undergraduate degree from an Australian university or other registered higher education provider or an equivalent qualification from a recognised international university or other international higher education provider.
At least two years full-time equivalent work experience in the ten years prior to application for admission that includes specified management responsibility. Work experience must be documented in a portfolio.
(The portfolio must include: a current curriculum vitae that summarises education, work history and professional development activities; a statement from at least one employer that describes the scope of management responsibility; and the names of and contact details for two referees who can comment on professional competence. Candidates are welcome to seek advice about the portfolio from the Postgraduate Course Coordinator.)
Candidates for admission who do not satisfy Normal Entry Requirements must have at least six years full-time equivalent work experience in the ten years prior to application for admission, of which at least two years includes specified management responsibility. Work experience must be documented in a portfolio. Where this alternative admission requirement is met the candidate will first be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Management and, upon completion, will articulate into the Graduate Diploma in Management.
(The portfolio must include: a current curriculum vitae that summarises education, work history, professional development activities; a statement from at least one employer that describes the scope of management responsibility; the names of and contact details for two referees who can comment on professional competence; and a written personal reflection on the practice of management of up to 2,000 to 3,000 words that addresses the candidate’s capacity to apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy, well-developed judgement and responsibility in contexts that require self-directed work and learning and to provide specialist advice and functions within broad parameters. The personal reflection must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. Candidates are advised to seek advice about the portfolio from the Postgraduate Course Coordinator.)
International Candidates (Off-shore candidates only)
International candidates for admission must meet the standard or alternative entry requirements above and meet CHC’s English Language Proficiency Requirements.
English Language Proficiency Requirements
Applicants for whom English is not their first language must provide certified documentary evidence that the language of instruction of their undergraduate degree was English or they have satisfactory results in an acceptable English Language Proficiency examination (see table below). Results are to be no more than two years old as at the commencement of the course of study.

GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT (BS42)
The Graduate Diploma in Management consists of 8 units, 1 core unit that provides an introduction to Biblical Christian worldview in the context of management, and 7 elective units.

In addition to the elective units listed above students may, with permission of the Course Coordinator, choose a maximum of 1 elective at postgraduate level from another School at CHC or university or other accredited higher education provider.
Where it is necessary for course progression or completion purposes students may, with permission of the Course Coordinator, enrol in BZ595 Postgraduate Independent Study I and/or BZ596 Postgraduate Independent Study II.
