I have been a sessional lecturer for Business Law in the CHC School of Business since 2008. I completed a Bachelor of Commerce in 1986 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1989 at the University of Queensland. After completing a two year Articles of Clerkship in Brisbane CBD, I was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and worked as a Solicitor in general practice with firms in Gladstone and Brisbane until 2002.
In 2005 I went back to school following a chronic illness and completed a two year Bachelor of Education at Christian Heritage College. I started teaching in the State education sector in 2007 before securing a position as a business and legal studies teacher with Groves Christian College across years 8-12 at the end of that year. In October 2011 I was successful in an application for the position of Head of Secondary of Groves Christian College, in which position I served until the end of 2014.
I resigned from Groves in 2014 intending to complete my Master of Education as a full-time student. However, God graciously provided an opportunity for me to work at CHC full-time in the SEH while continuing my post-graduate study. I am pleased to be taking on the challenge of coordinating the Professional Experience Program for pre-service teachers while lecturing two units in the SEH undergraduate program.
I have a passion for learning and am excited to be part of Christian education in the tertiary sector. It is a great privilege.
