Study support

Study can be challenging sometimes. There are specific skills you’ll need to do well in your subjects, like research, writing and referencing.

Anne Millard is our dedicated study support tutor. She runs one-on-one sessions to develop or refresh these skills to give you every chance of success in your subjects. These sessions are open to every student – full- and part-time, undergraduate and postgraduate – at no cost.

Anne’s sessions cover:

•  Planning, writing and editing an essay

•  Referencing

•  Paraphrasing

•  Time management and study habits

•  Exam preparation

•  Learning strategies including reading, listening and note-taking.

You can visit the Study Support room near the front desk in the library or email to organise a time.

For students studying externally, Anne offers personal study support through email, phone and Skype.

If you have any questions or issues about studying at CHC, email Anne and she will do everything she can to help.

We believe every student, no matter their ability, race or religion should be valued and treated fairly. Our Student Advocacy Officer, located in the Learning Hub, ensures this remains the reality.

Their job is to support students and help them navigate academic rules and procedures. Always acting in the students’ interests, our Student Advocacy Officer acts as a third party not associated with those who administer the academic regulations.

If you have any concerns about these academic rules, make an appointment by emailing
