General Information

The Diploma of Social Science is a one year full time course of study, or part time equivalent. It is a foundational program which is intended for people who want to develop more awareness of themselves and those around them, as well as those wanting to gain useful social science-related skills and understandings for informal application to a range of settings.

The Diploma of Social Science consists of Core units and Elective Units which may be drawn from a range of social science fields, such as Community Development, Chaplaincy, Counselling, Human Behaviour, Human Services, Studies in Society and Youth Work.

The Diploma of Social Science comprises the first year of the Bachelor of Social Science.

Please note that certain units can be completed oncampus only, in either Internal or Intensive modes (as offered). Please contact the School of Social Sciences Administration Office for further details.
