Student Starter Pack
Welcome to your student starter pack, this page will give you a quick overview of what you will need to begin your studies at CHC.
Orientation programs are designed to provide you with everything you need to get started at CHC. It is a time where you can come to the campus before your course begins, get information about your units and timetable, and meet your lecturers as well as some of your fellow students. Orientation is a way for you to welcome the new, to build friendships with staff and other students and to find your place in the CHC community, and we invite you to participate.

Each CHC School has prepared a Text Book List which indicates the required text books for the units on offer in each semester.

There are two publications with which you should become familiar during your enrolment at CHC – the Student Handbook and the relevant courses Handbook.
The Student Handbook is one of the most important documents you will access during your time at CHC. It includes information that applies to all CHC students, such as your rights and responsibilities as a student, as well as information about policies and processes which apply to things such as your enrolment, financial matters and academic issues.
The Courses Handbooks contain information that is specific to the Schools that offer the courses, such as the school-based application of policies, course details and graduation requirements.
Please ensure that you read these publications very carefully. If you have any questions about your enrolment, such as how to change your course or your unit selection in a particular semester, or how to apply for a leave of absence from your studies, or any questions about financial matters or course requirements, these documents should always be the first place you look for the answers. They also tell you which staff member to approach in the event that you wish to speak with someone about a question or issue you might have.
Student ID Card
As a student at CHC, you will be provided with a Student ID Card. This card will show your name, course details and attendance status (full-time or part-time), and will bear the photo that you are required to submit to Student Administration (details below).
CHC requires a recent headshot to generate the card.

The ID card is needed for borrowing from the CHC Library and for entering scheduled examinations.
ID Cards will be available for collection from Student Administration. Please sign the strip on the reverse side of the card as soon as you receive it.
The ID card is valid for the duration of your course. If you lose your card, please complete Request for Replacement Student ID Form. A replacement ID card carries a fee of $20, which is paid with the submission of the form. (Found on Student ID Card link)
The information contained in the timetable may be updated prior to the commencement of classes. Be sure to check periodically that you have the most up-to-date version.
