Christian Heritage College (CHC), one of Australia’s leading Christian higher education providers, is delighted to announce the arrival of two new courses.
The Master of Teaching (Primary) and Master of Teaching (Secondary) are initial teacher education (ITE) courses which qualify the graduates to register as teachers with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
Students can apply now for the first intake in Semester 2, 2018 (commencing in July). Students who commence in this first cohort have the option to continue their course through Summer Semester and 2019, with graduation at the end of 2019, subject to successful completion of all units of study.
From 2019 onwards, the Master of Teaching courses will have a Semester 1 commencement only.
The Master of Teaching courses “replace” the former Graduate Diploma of Education course as an initial teacher qualification for individuals who already hold (at least) a Bachelor degree in an area other than teaching (eg. Science, Arts, Business, Engineering) and wish to pursue a calling as a school teacher.
Students can study full-time or part-time.
In a major innovation, the Master of Teaching courses can now be studied in external mode – that is, you can complete the courses from literally anywhere in the world with an internet connection!

Course Information and Entry Requirements
Master of Teaching (Primary): Completion of a three-year bachelor degree or equivalent (minimum GPA 4.0) in a feld other than education that includes at least one year (full time equivalent) relevant to one or more learning areas in the primary school curriculum. Personal statement addressing interest in teaching and children/young people, and involvement in personal learning and leadership activities. English language proficiency requirements apply. Master of Teaching (Secondary): Completion of a three-year bachelor degree or equivalent (minimum GPA 4.0) in a feld other than education that includes at least a major study in one teaching area and, preferably, a second teaching area comprising at least a minor study. Personal statement addressing interest in teaching and children/young people, and involvement in personal learning and leadership activities. English language proficiency requirements apply.
