Anton Selvaratnam

Sessional Lecturer, School of Education

Mr. Anton Selvaratnam is currently the Head of Mathematics at Pacific Online Christian School. Anton has extensive experience in teaching particularly in the areas of Mathematics at both Secondary and Tertiary level. On completion of a Bachelors’ degree in Mathematics (Hons) obtaining a 1st class, at Jaffna University, Sri Lanka, Anton was employed by the University as a Lecturer in Mathematics. During his tenure there Anton received a scholarship to Massey University, New Zealand to pursue his postgraduate studies in Mathematics. He successfully completed his Masters’ Degree (Mathematics – Research) with a 1st Class, and also simultaneously completed a Graduate Dip in Teaching (Specialist Mathematics) at Massey University. During his time at Massey University Anton was employed as a Graduate Assistant to run tutorial programs for undergraduate students. Anton strongly believes that God is The Mathematician in Existence. His love for God and his enthusiasm for teaching Mathematics by integrating his faith within the subject have been appreciated and recognised by many students and staff at educational institutes such as Sydney Adventist College, Avondale University, Medowie Christian School, Avondale School and Maitland Christian School, where Anton had been employed at various roles. In his spare time, Anton loves time with family, keeping track of all things Cricket and enjoying the nature and admiring God’s beautiful creation.
