First Nation Scholarships
Availability:
The scholarship is available for a student who identify as First Nations and studying full-time.
Value:
Valued up to $8,000 per year for the length of the course (up to four years for undergraduate courses and up to two years for postgraduate courses).
Please note, First Nation students are eligible for an ATAR adjustment of up to 5 ranks.
Application Details:
To apply submit a completed online CHC Scholarship Application form and upload the required documentation that addresses the scholarship criteria indicated.
Applications must address the following criteria
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status.
- Provide a Christian Character statement of faith.
In a statement of 200 words, describe how you would support and contribute to CHC’s values, culture and community.
- The scholarship is awarded subject to the applicant meeting normal CHC admission requirements for a nominated course and will be implemented once all academic enrolment procedures are finalised.
- The semester value of the scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s student account and cannot be redeemed for cash, in part or in whole.
- Recipients of scholarships/grants must maintain a full-time study load of 40 credit points (4 units) per semester in their course of enrolment in order to remain eligible for their scholarships/grants. Approved cross-institutional study will be included when determining recipients’ study loads (this does not include concurrent enrolment in two courses).
- From the second semester of the scholarship, continued eligibility for the scholarship is contingent upon the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress by passing all units in the preceding semester (minimum GPA of 4.0).
Applications for this scholarship will not be processed unless CHC has received an application for an eligible course.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application, to the email address provided on the application form, within 20 working days of the close of applications.
Successful applicants are to send a reply email to confirm their acceptance of the offer of the First Nations Scholarship.

Provision Scholarship Financial Hardship
Availability:
Scholarships are available in 2026 (one in each of Semesters 1 and 2) for students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents, who are enrolling in Bachelor-level studies for the first time and who have experienced educational disadvantage as a result of financial hardship.
An applicant will be deemed to have demonstrated significant financial disadvantage by being awarded the maximum possible points for the ‘Financial Hardship’ category of the QTAC EAS (Educational Access Scheme).

Value:
These scholarships are valued at $1,500 per year for a maximum of three years, or four years for Bachelor-level initial teacher education courses.
Applications must address the following criteria and include evidence in relation to each one as requested.
- Financial hardship
In a statement of 200 words, please describe how financial hardship has caused you education disadvantage.
New applicants must also apply in the ‘Financial Hardship’ category of the QTAC Educational Access Scheme (EAS) on the QTAC website.
CHC will access your ATAR (if eligible) and EAS Financial Hardship score via QTAC.
OR
Existing students provide the finance team evidence support a sudden change in financial circumstances.
- Value of an education in an eligible course
New students, in a statement of 200 words, describe why completing a degree in an eligible course is important to you and how you see it as representing or embodying a pathway to achieving the goals you have set for your life and work.
- Statement of Christian Character
In a statement of 200 words, describe how you would support and contribute to CHC’s values, culture and community.
To apply for the Provision scholarship, applicants are to submit a completed online CHC Scholarship Application form and upload the required documentation that addresses the scholarship criteria indicated. Apply through ‘Equity-Based Scholarships’.
- The scholarship is awarded subject to the applicant meeting normal CHC admission requirements for an eligible course and will be implemented once all academic enrolment procedures are finalised.
- In the first year of the scholarship, $500 of the annual value will be paid in the first week of the student’s first semester of study to help offset initial study costs, with the balance to be paid in two equal instalments after the census dates in Semesters 1 and 2.
- In the subsequent years of the scholarship, the annual value will be paid in two equal instalments after the census dates in Semesters 1 and 2.
- Recipients of scholarships/grants must maintain a full-time study load of 40 credit points (4 units) per semester in their course of enrolment in order to remain eligible for their scholarships/grants. Approved cross-institutional study will be included when determining recipients’ study loads (this does not include concurrent enrolment in two courses).

First Generation Students
To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must be the first individual within their family to engage in tertiary level studies. Applicants do not need an ATAR score to apply for thus scholarship. This scholarship is for students enrolling in any degree at CHC and open to Australian citizens and permanent residents.

The scholarship is available for a student who is the first individual within their family to engage in tertiary level studies.

Value:
Valued up to $1,000 per annum.

Regional Equity Scholarship
The Regional Equity Scholarship is open to Australian citizens and permanent residents taking on a full-time study load. Applicants do not need an ATAR score to apply for this scholarship.
Availability:
The scholarship is available for full-time study only.
Value:
The Regional Equity scholarship is valued at $1,500 per course.
Applicants must:
1. Be located in a SEIFA (The Australian Bureau of Statistics Socio-Economic Indexes for Areas) Category 1 or in some cases Category 2 to be eligible. You may be required to provide evidence of your postcode.
- Provide a statement of Christian Character
- In a statement of 200 words, describe how you would support and contribute to CHC’s values, culture and community.
Applicants are to complete an application for an eligible course via QTAC, and submit a completed online CHC Scholarship Application form and upload the required documentation that addresses the scholarship criteria indicated. Apply through ‘Equity-Based Scholarships’.
- The scholarship is awarded subject to the applicant meeting normal CHC admission requirements for an eligible course and will be implemented once all academic enrolment procedures are finalised.

1.Evidence of Christian Character and contribution to the goals of Christian Education.
Please provide:
- In a statement of 200 words, describe how you would support and contribute to CHC’s values, culture and community and how you would contribute to Christian education.
2. Academic achievement
For undergraduate courses, please provide:
- Your most recent school report.
- University subjects/units completed, VET units of competency, or Certificates/Diplomas completed.
For postgraduate courses, please provide:
- Your most recent official academic transcript.
- The scholarship is awarded subject to the applicant meeting normal CHC admission requirements for a nominated course and will be implemented once all academic enrolment procedures are finalised.
- The semester value of the scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s student account and cannot be redeemed for cash, in part or in whole.
- Recipients of scholarships/grants must maintain a full-time study load of 40 credit points (4 units) per semester in their course of enrolment in order to remain eligible for their scholarships/grants. Approved cross-institutional study will be included when determining recipients’ study loads (this does not include concurrent enrolment in two courses).

International Students Equity Bursary
International students can access a discount in course fees of up to 20%.
Open to International students
Applicants may enrol in any degree and may be asked to provide a statement of why they want to study at CHC
Applications must address the following criteria and include evidence in relation to each one as requested.

To apply for the International Student Bursary, applicants are to submit a completed online CHC Scholarship Application form and upload the required documentation that addresses the scholarship criteria indicated. Apply through ‘Equity-Based Scholarships’.
- The scholarship is awarded subject to the applicant meeting normal CHC admission requirements for an eligible course and will be implemented once all academic enrolment procedures are finalised.
- From the second semester of the bursary, continued eligibility for the bursary is contingent upon the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress by passing all units in the preceding semester (minimum GPA of 4.0)

Lifelong Learning Bursary
CHC Alumni:
CHC values lifelong learning and is providing scholarships to selected alumni who have been accepted to commence an eligible CHC course.
The scholarship is available to domestic students and international students alike.
Value:
The scholarship is valued at a 10% reduction in the applicable tuition fees for the duration of enrolment in the course (domestic students) or for the standard full-time duration of the course (international students).
Applications must address the following criteria and include evidence in relation to each one.
1. Previous study at CHC
Applicants must have previously studied at CHC, graduated with a GPA of 4.0 or above, and be transitioning, ideally, into a postgraduate course.
Please provide:
- An email to scholarships@chc.edu.au outlining the course you are now applying to study and details of your previous CHC course.
2. Academic achievement
- You must have completed your previous study with a passing grade.

- Some practicum units within courses are excluded.

Australian Government Support Services
The Australian Government provides a range of support for students while they study including support for students who are experiencing hardship or who face other challenges.There are differing eligibility requirements depending on the support sought. Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships
Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships are being offered for commencing ITE students who are commencing full-time teaching degrees from 2024.
The Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships Program offers scholarships of up to $40,000 per student for full time undergraduate ITE students.
