Free Maths Bridging Course | MA100
CHC’s Mathematics Bridging Course is provided to help you meet the maths prerequisite requirement for our Education courses. Consisting of 8 lectures and one examination across the four weeks prior to the start of each semester, you can start your study fully equipped. Facilitating Innovative Online Learning
This course is designed to assist with the development of strong facilitation skills to enhance teaching and learning online. It is ideal for teachers who need to develop a better understanding of online learning, what it means to be an online learner and how to facilitate innovative online learning.
Learn best practice in online learning and be able to implement proven methods of effective delivery. You will also be able to identify the diverse needs of digital learning approaches to design and create innovative digital learning experience. By completing this course, you will achieve knowledge, skills and capabilities outlined in the learning outcomes. You will also be provided with artefacts (such as videos and written material) that are practical to professional life.
Designing Learning for a Diverse Cohort of Students Online
Engaging students in online learning is a perennial challenge for educators. This challenge escalates with the extreme diversity of backgrounds, culture, gender, learning styles, social class, learning ability (including gifted and talented), readiness, cognitive ability, emotional needs, and social ability etc. So, how can we design effective learning that encourages engagement and inclusion of students while staying true to the learning objectives?
This course is designed to provide some practical answers to this question. It will help with navigating the challenge of diverse cohorts of students whilst being able to respond to varying needs and implement strategies for facilitating effective student learning. It is ideal for teachers of all levels who want to better understand best practice for inclusion and inclusive education.
Empowering Teachers to Navigate Trauma
This course is designed to equip teachers for the growing impacts of trauma felt in schools. Recent events in the world, such as wars, fires, floods, and COVID, have increased the levels of trauma experienced by children. In light of increased levels of trauma educators need to understand the prevalence of trauma, its effect on learning and behaviour, and how they can support students.
Learn how best practice can inform your teaching for better outcomes for students who have experienced trauma. This course bridges counselling and teaching expertise and is specific for teachers.
The course will be lectured by trained Counsellor and Teacher Toni Neil and Dr Craig Murison, ex-Principal and Chief Academic Officer, Dean – School of Education & Humanities at CHC.
Building Websites with WordPress
This course is designed to upskill you with the basics of building a website through WordPress, equally this will assist people using WordPress as the CSM for their website. This course is 3-5 hours of self-paced online learning.
Christian Worldview Development for Education Providers
Key topics to be covered as group:
Discussion and stimuli throughout (45-50 min)
- What is a worldview (WV) and a Christian WV
- Why WV important in schools, How is CVW expressed at your school?
- CWV: Dualism v Revelatory using Illustrative examples
- “Gods Big Story”: a revelatory tool for CWV integration into teaching
