Kerri-Lyn Sweetman

Sessional Lecturer, School of Social Science

Kerri is the counsellor and co-founding director of Siloam Wellness Centre, a not-for-profit, registered charity providing trauma-informed care and support with a focus on holistic health and trauma recovery.

Kerri has been providing therapy and support as a counsellor since completing an advanced diploma in counselling and family therapy in 2010. Initially in private practice, Kerri subsequently joined a team operating from a church community counselling centre. After completing her Master of Counselling, specialising in trauma, Kerri, along with her husband, founded Siloam Wellness Centre.

With a trauma-informed and eclectic approach to therapy, Kerri focuses on building a safe therapeutic relationship, and helping clients develop emotional tolerance and regulation tools, self-compassion, a healthy sense of self, and relational skills to foster health and resilience, integrating the past into the present.

Prior to counselling Kerri has worked in the private sector as a business analyst and within church contexts in various administrative and ministry roles. Outside of work, Kerri enjoys reading, music, dance and beach holidays.
