Nicky Stirling

Sessional Lecturer, School of Social Science

I am a Sessional Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at CHC.

My educational background consists of a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Middle Eastern studies, Economic History and Politics (ANU); Master of Arts majoring in Sociology and Islamic Women's studies (Griffith Uni); PhD in the areas of Sociology, Migration and Islamic Women (UQ); Grad Dip Secondary Teaching (CHC).

Bio and Personal Info/Interests:

I have previously worked for six years as a Social Science Researcher in the School of Medicine at the University of Queensland. I have also taught at Griffith University and the University of Queensland. I am currently teaching sociology at CHC and the Australian Catholic University. I love gardening and have recently started to learn the cello!

Personal Testimony:

I became a committed Christian at the age of fifteen - this has been the most significant and important decision of my life and my central focus. I thank Jesus for His continuing faithfulness and grace.
