Course Details Bachelor of Business

The Bachelor of Business is a flexible three-year degree available full-time or part-time, with a maximum completion time of 10 years (extensions may be granted in extenuating circumstances). Students can major in Accounting, Business Administration, Management, or Marketing, with the option to enter from or exit with the Diploma of Business, depending on completed units.

This dynamic and engaging course blends strong theoretical foundations with practical experience, preparing you to be an intuitive, focused, and entrepreneurial professional. Grounded in a Christian worldview, the degree equips students to integrate faith and business, making a positive impact across not-for-profit and commercial sectors.

Admissions Criteria

Recent Secondary Education

Applicants who have completed secondary education in the last two years and who are aged 17 years or over, are eligible for admission to this course.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) study

Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study of at least a completed Certificate III (with a GPA of at least 4.0, where applicable) and who are aged 17 years or over, are eligible for admission to this course.

Higher Education study

Applicants with completed higher education study, and applicants with higher education study of at least one semester (full-time equivalent) who wish to transfer to or within CHC, are eligible for admission to this course.

Work and life experience

Applicants with work and life experience who demonstrate readiness for higher education, including successful completion of the Special Tertiary Admission Test (STAT), are eligible for admission to this course.

English language proficiency

Applicants for whom English is not their first language must provide certified documentary evidence that their secondary schooling, or tertiary studies of at least one year, was conducted in the English language or they have satisfactory results in an acceptable English Language Proficiency examination (see table below). Results are to be no more than two years old as at the commencement of the course of study.

What to expect

At CHC, you’ll learn from experienced professionals who bring real-world insights into small, engaging classes where lecturers know you by name and support your learning journey. You’ll gain hands-on experience through a Work Integrated Learning internship, which counts towards your degree and often opens doors to future employment. In your first year, you’ll explore core business disciplines before choosing a major in Accounting, Management, Marketing or Business Administration, with the flexibility to add a minor or electives from across CHC or even receive credit for prior studies.

The Bachelor of Business consists of 24 units & 12 core units:

The Bachelor of Business consists of 24 units, 12 core units that provide knowledge of business principles and practices and which analyse Biblical Christian worldview in business and management contexts, 8 units chosen as a major study, and 4 units chosen as a minor study.

In place of a minor, students can complete 4 unspecified electives of any combination of CHC units and/or units offered by other higher education providers (subject to prerequisite requirements). In planning their course, students must consult the Business Courses Guide for information regarding course rules and requirements, including unit prerequisite requirements.

Students complete a major of 8 units and a minor of 4 units in two of the following areas, or 4 electives in place of a minor (unit prerequisite requirements apply).
The Business Administration major consists of 7 units chosen from among the majors in Accounting, Management and Marketing, with a minimum of 3 units at 300-level, and the following unit:

Regardless of whether you have recently completed secondary education or have vocational education and training (VET) study, higher education study, or work and life experience, the process of applying for admission to CHC will depend on whether your preferred course is an undergraduate course or a postgraduate course, and whether you are a domestic student or an international student.
